Date added: 13/11/2015 Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and TVS Therapeutic Anti Snore pillows

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is the most common of the three Sleep Apnea disorders, it is caused by a physical obstruction within the airway, resulting with pauses in breathing or instances of shallow or infrequent breathing, leading to reduced Peripheral Capillary Oxygen Saturation (SpO2) levels in the blood.

For most people, normal SpO2 levels range between 95% to 99% when resting. Alarm bells start to ring when SpO2 saturation levels drop below 88%, as this is believed to be the lowest point before organs start to become affected by reduced oxygen levels.

Throughout the recommended 8 hrs of sleep, it is most desirable for the sleeper to maintain SpO2 levels above 90%, the TVS QR series Therapeutic Anti Snore Pillow effectively achieves opening the airways, significantly reducing OSA and snoring by generally maintaining SpO2 levels well above 90% for moderate to severe Sleep Apnea sufferer's.

Constant Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Mandibular Advance Splints (MAS) therapy are currently considered the most effective conventional medical treatment available for snoring and OSA sufferers, however if you have tried but cannot tolerate CPAP or MAS therapy, then consider purchasing our new TVS QR series Therapeutic Anti Snore Pillow, available in soft, medium or firm Visco Elastic and Gel Memory Foam.

When selecting any Anti Snore pillow, it is important to consider the pillow shape and the effect it has on chin position, because it is absolutely critical on the effectiveness of the desired outcome. Pillows that tilt the chin closer to the chest (called Neck Flexion) have been medically proven to cause breathing difficulties as it closes off the airways in the throat. Tilting the chin towards the chest is not what you want your pillow to do, your pillow needs to do the exact opposite.

All TVS Foam Product pillows naturally (ever so slightly) tilt the head backwards (called Neck Extension), so the chin is as far away from the chest as possible, this simple action opens up the airway and provides unrestricted airflow to the lungs.

Encouraging pillow development test data shows that the new TVS Therapeutic pillow generally turns continuous snoring into intermittent snoring, so rather than snoring every 5 seconds (continuous snoring), we have managed to stretch that out to a single snore/snort being anything from 2 mins to 40 mins apart, with regular reports of zero snoring detected over an 8 hour period. However don't forget that everyone is different.

These Australian designed and made pillows prevent snoring in 90% or more of cases, provided the hand(s) are kept below the shoulders. The TVS QR series pillows also assist in reducing the loudness of snoring from around 90 dbA to 45 - 50 dbA, or about as loud as someone whispering (or talking) very quietly.

Pulse Oximeter SpO2 reports show blood oxygen saturation levels typically remaining higher than 91% over the full recorded period with very few blood oxygen readings dipping lower than 88%. Resting heart pulse rates (BPM) generally remain well within normal ranges of between 55 bpm to 70 bpm.

Why choose a TVS Anti Snore Pillow? because they allow you to sleep comfortably in any position with significantly reduced or no snoring, which is exactly what OSA sufferers need.
